New Innovations On Show for TM Machinery
14-01-2019
Leading woodworking machinery supplier, TM Machinery Sales, showcased its largest range of Striebig vertical panel saws and ALKO dust extraction systems to date at this year’s woodworking machinery and materials show, the W Exhibition.
Promoting the two well-know brands at the four-day event, technical specialists and engineers were on hand to demonstrate the very latest models and software available, including the brand new Standard S vertical panel saw, which was demonstrated for the very first time in the UK.
Based on the original ‘Standard’ model, which has been a best seller in the UK for over a decade, the ‘Standard S TRK1 and TRK2 now have new, integrated features to assist the user even further.
Differentiated by either an aluminium or wooden support, the Comfort package features a digital measuring system with motorised Y-axis locking and adjustment as standard. The digital display has simple to operate positioning buttons that allow the user to adjust the saw’s position at the touch of a button and a new VSA scoring saw unit, which is fully adjustable, that allows the saw to work easily with coated panel materials. It’s also equipped with 17 rollers and either pedal or pneumatic brakes, as well as a TRK dust extraction system.
The stand also provided an opportunity to highlight Striebig’s first retro-fittable panel optimisation programme (POP), OptiDivide. Until now, the POP system was only available as a fully integrated optimisation package on the top-of-the-range Striebig ‘4D’ vertical panel saw. However, with the addition of this latest retro-fittable device, users of existing Striebig vertical panel saws – regardless of the age or model of machine – can benefit from the very latest optimisation technology.
The intelligent software, which is only available in the UK though the Leicester-based machinery supplier, has been created to calculate the most effective cutting strategy for each panel – maximising the user’s time and substantially reducing material waste. The system can also be connected to the Wi-Fi, allowing panel sizes to be sent to the machine quickly, reducing errors on even the most challenging of panels or during strip cutting work.
OptiDivide, which was demonstrated at the show on the new Standard S vertical panel saw, consists of a single, compact computer that is easily fitted to the machine. It comes equipped with a label printer for simple handling so, once pieces have been cut, each part can be labeled with a barcode or the necessary product information for quick and simple handling.
Sitting alongside TM Machinery’s exclusive range of Striebig vertical panel saws was its comprehensive range of ALKO extraction power units – the 120, 160, 200 and 250 – briquette press and the AST 1.0 Basic sanding bench, which made its UK debut at the W Exhibition.
The entry-level AST 1.0 Basic sanding table has been introduced as a competitive solution for smaller manufacturers. Working alongside a dust removal and filter system, the design is made from galvanised sheet steel and is equipped with a manual, tool-free height adjustment mechanism and handy scale for simple and effective use. It also benefits from offset longitudinal sides for edge sanding, a Beechwood rack to prevent damage to the work piece and a funnel-shaped air guide for the extraction nozzle.
Matt Pearce, Managing Director of TM Machinery says, “This year we’ve displayed our largest number of saws and dust extraction systems to date and the results speak for themselves. We’ve sold several high-spec models over the four-day period, including the Control and Compact saws we had on our stand. We’ve also had increased interest in our extraction brand, ALKO. The new AST 1.0 Basic standing table has been extremely poplar with smaller manufacturers and we’ve had a good level of enquires that we now need to follow up. It’s been great to talk to new and existing TM customers and we’re looking forward to the show being in bigger halls for 2020.”
