W10 proves positive for Striebig
05-11-2013
For T.M. Machinery Sales, sole agent for the Striebig range of vertical panel saws, W10 Working with Wood was far more successful than its appearance at the W8 show.
Sales director Matt Pearce said: "The Sunday was busier compared with the same day two years ago, and the increase in the number of visitors continued right up to the last day. What made it even better was that the level of serious enquiries we received was way up compared with 2008.
"We sold the newly-uprated Control series machine, a full-automatic model with an innovative 'touch and saw' operating system which we were showing for the first time, off the stand to a company in Hampshire, and there was a lot of interest in it from many other potential buyers.
"We will now be working hard to convert all of the other enquiries we received, which were also for the entry-level Standard and mid-range Compact models we demonstrated."
Interest in all three Striebig models was helped by the Swiss manufacturer's decision to hold down existing price levels for the third year in a row, according to Matt Pearce. "By not imposing any price increases again this year, Striebig is doing everything it can to help potential UK buyers as we come out of the recession."
He felt that the show had been very well promoted, leading to the increase in visitors from companies both large and small who were actively looking to invest in new machines. "There was a definite air of optimism in the air, and it has all been very positive for us."
