Center for Power Electronics Systems (CPES) expands
CPES has a global reputation for advanced research in power electronics with 78 members including Toyota, GE, Fairchild, Cree, Rohm, and Mitsubishi to name a few, who all contribute and participate in the organization's mission.
Their membership expanded in February 2015 with the Mentor Graphics joining the elite. The collaborated with Mentor Graphics is expected to help improve performance on reliability testing supporting technologies to advance the power and performance of semiconductors, MOSFETs , IGBTs and many other devices in power consumption industry.
Mentor Graphics' software will certainly support the expert insight required for semiconductor thermal simulation and measurement. Mentor Graphics say they are honored to be a member and look forward to the knowledge alignment with fellow members which will provide great advancements in electronics and semiconductor industries.
About the Center for Power Electronics Systems
The power electronics program at Virginia Tech was initiated in 1977 under the name of Power Electronics Research Group (PERG). In 1983, the group became a university center and was renamed Virginia Power Electronics Center (VPEC).
