New Military Electronics regulations come into effect Dec 2014

Regulated through the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) there are new changes to the Category XI Military Electronics for U.S. Munitions. Any PCB “specially designed” for military or defence applications will be governed by the Category XI and all digital data as well as designs for printed circuit boards will be treat as technical data under Military Electronics classification. This is a significant step in addressing issues such as sourcing of printed boards for ITAR items from non-ITAR regulated facilities.
