Thermoforming is used to produce a wide range of products, including disposable cups, containers, lids, trays, blisters, clamshells, vehicle door panels, refrigerator liners, and more. It differs from other plastic processing methods like injection moulding moulding.
In the most common method, the plastic sheet is fed through an oven to heat it, then pressed into a moulding vacuum and pressurized air. After forming, the sheet is trimmed to separate the finished parts.
Thermoforming companies often recycle scrap plastic to reduce waste and conserve resources.
