Tribology is the science behind friction technology, a specific and demanding field of engineering that concentrates on interacting surfaces that are in relative motion. Trimat has been involved in this specialist field for more than 40 years, continually ensuring that research and development is a critical element of the business model. Working from our in house laboratory the R & D department conduct chemical and mechanical testing, providing the expertise and innovation necessary to meet the varied and increasing demands of brake and clutch systems. The friction materials can be supplied pre-mounted to metal components in accordance to customer specification; this can be achieved through riveting, bonding or integrally moulding.
