Dorchester based, Tritex NDT have launched a new multiple echo ultrasonic thickness gauge for checking corrosion on board ships. Multiple echo allows measurements to be taken through coatings and is specified by class societies for class surveys. Coatings up to 6mm can be completely ignored.
The new Multigauge 5500 has been designed to mount onto a waist belt or harness when carrying our rope access surveys. The simplicity of the gauge means that no qualifications are required to use it. The Multigauge 5500 requires no zeroing, has Automatic Measurement Verification System (AMVS), Coating Plus+ to ignore coatings up to 20mm and Intelligent Probe Recognition (IPR). In addition, all probes are protected by a membrane to ensure they last the lifetime of the gauge, keeping cost of ownership low.
It is extremely robust and durable to withstand the harsh environments that exist aboard ships. The gauge is supplied as a complete kit with all the necessary accessories to use straight away and comes with a three year warranty.
