Dorchester based, Tritex NDT have developed a new range of triple echo ultrasonic metal thickness gauges ideally suited for the inspection of corrosion on road tankers. The new Tritex Multigauges have been designed for robustness, simplicity of use and most importantly, accuracy. Metal thickness measurements to check for corrosion or wear can be easily taken through paint and other protective coatings on the sides and knuckle ends.
The Multigauge 5600 is simple and robust, making it both durable and easy to use. The gauge has a bright graphical LCD display which gives detailed information such as echo strength, probe type and measurement units. The moulded soft rubber surround feels comfortable, looks good and provides extra protection against knocks and scrapes.
All probes have IPR (Intelligent Probe Recognition), which automatically adjusts settings in the gauge at the same time as transmitting recognition data - the result is a perfectly matched probe and gauge for enhanced performance. Thats not all; the AMVS (Automatic Measurement Verification System) ensures only true measurements are displayed, even on the most heavily corroded metals. Tritex Triple Echo also significantly reduces preparation time as it eliminates the need to remove surface coatings, just the metal is measured. Weathering steel presents no problem.
In developing these gauges, Tritex have remained committed to respecting the environment by omitting the use of hazardous substances and materials in all products by complying with the RoHS and WEEE directives.
All gauges are manufactured to comply British Standards BS EN 15317:2007, which covers the characterisation and verification of ultrasonic thickness measuring equipment.
