Towards the end of 2019, Pantone added 294 colours to their Pantone Matching System (PMS) and expanded the library to over 2,100 colours.
With these additional colours, designers have an improved cross-referencing to Pantone's Fashion, Home & Interiors (FHI) system, allowing for additional flexibility across both colour libraries.
This was the first addition to colours since 2016, and offers product designers, brands and printers unique benefits for every creative need and better supports the process between physical and digital mediums.
KEY FEATURES OF THE PMS COLOR EXPANSION
• Trend relevant colours - addition of basic colours including neutrals, tans, greys, navy, blacks etc.
• Colour accuracy - the latest Pantone color guides are the most stable and consistent printed colours
• Better access to Pantone colours - designers have access to all PMS colours in real-time via the Pantone Extension for Adobe Creative Cloud
