Analogue signal processing
When used for industrial monitoring applications, sensors can record surrounding environmental conditions.
Sensor signals are used within the process to continually track changes to the area being monitored.
Either digital or analogue signals can occur.
Normally an electrical voltage or current value is produced which corresponds proportionally to the physical variable that is being monitored.
Analogue signal processing is required when automatic processes are being monitored to ensure that they maintain or reach some defined state.
This is particularly significant for process automation applications. Standardised electrical signals are typically used for process engineering.
Analogue currents/voltages of 0(4)...20 mA/ 0...10 V have become established as the standard physical measurement value range.
Weidmüller's new products are in harmony with the growing trend towards automation.
Our line of products for analogue signal processing have been designed with sensor signal requirements in mind.
These analogue signal processing products can be used in conjunction with other Weidmüller products and can be combined with one another.
Electrically and mechanically, they are designed so that they require a minimum of wiring effort.
These products can be adapted for a wide range of industrial and process automation applications – with housing and connection systems designed to fit the application.
The following functionality is included in the product line:
•Isolating transformers, supply isolators and signal converters for DC standardised signals
•Temperature measuring transformers for resistance thermometers and thermocouples,
•Frequency converter
•Potentiometer measuring transducers,
•Bridge measuring transducers (strain gauges)
•Trip amplifiers and modules for monitoring electrical and non-electrical process variables
•AD/DA converter
•Displays
•Calibration devices
The products mentioned are available as pure signal converters, 2-way/3-way isolators, supply isolators, passive isolators or as trip amplifiers.
