WEISS Opens Logistics Centre in Korea
13-09-2013
WEISS is strengthening its commitment in Asia with a new logistics centre in South Korea. This is the third foray into Asia for the Buchen-based manufacturer of high-grade automation components, following on from its operations in China and Singapore.
WEISS East Asia Co., Ltd. was officially founded in the middle of this year. The site in Incheon – which is located to the west of the country's capital, Seoul and right in the heart of East Asia – was carefully selected. Its central position means that the new enterprise is close to China, Taiwan and Japan – which serves to underline the direction the German engineering company is taking with its Asia strategy.
The initial task for the newly founded Korean WEISS subsidiary will be to focus on optimising logistics processes. As a local base with dedicated warehousing, it guarantees fast availability of the intelligent high-performance modules from Germany. Key regional accounts will therefore also benefit from faster deliveries without lengthy transportation processes. The new enterprise will also allow WEISS' Korean trade office, Jungwoo F&B Corp., to react more quickly and flexibly to customer requirements.
In future, all WEISS dealers and subsidiaries in Asia will benefit from the company's new Korean base.
With its Korean subsidiary, WEISS is once again demonstrating the vast potential of the Asian continent for the leading innovator in the field of automation components. WEISS boasts a network of subsidiaries that now encompasses all of the world's key strategic markets. The ability to cater to local circumstances, maintain close proximity to customers, as well as the service and consulting opportunities resulting from this are the most important reasons for the expansion strategy.
