LOCAL MS VISITS WERNICK FACTORY TO SEE NEW HMFLEX BUILDING SYSTEM

David Rees, Member of the Senedd for Aberavon, recently visited Wernick Buildings’ factory to get a demonstration of Wernick’s new modular hospital ward system, HMflex. HMflex is designed to provide ward and clinical spaces via standardised modular layouts. A four-bed ward can be delivered with just two modular units, meaning it be delivered, installed and ready for fitout in as little as 24 hours. The system maximises the efficiency, quality, and sustainability achievable with modular construction. Every unit is built at Wernick’s factory in Port Talbot, South Wales. Over 150 people are employed at the 9 acre site, which currently produces over 1,200m2 of modular buildings every week. David Rees commented, “I was thrilled to have the opportunity to revisit Wernick Buildings and look at the fantastic work that they have been doing and in particular, visited a modern modular ward. I was impressed with the flexibility modular buildings offer. Having hospital wards being built here in Aberavon is a testament to the variety of local businesses and skills that are available here. I was also pleased to hear that Wernick Buildings offer an apprenticeship scheme to help young people take their first step into work.
