OUR MANUFACTURING SITE ACHIEVES ISO 14001 CERTIFICATION

I am pleased to announce that Wernick’s main manufacturing site has been awarded the ISO 14001 accreditation, and has been FSC certified for chain of custody. As you’ll have seen on this blog before, we at Wernick are rather committed to reducing waste and protecting the environment, so it means a lot to us to receive accreditations that recognise our efforts. The ISO14001:2004 certification means that our manufacturing process meets international standard requirements for environmental management systems. More simply, it means that we constantly work to avoid any pollution of the air or the soil at our site, that we work to mitigate our impact on climate change and that we use our resources effectively and efficiently to minimise any waste. Due to the controlled way we produce our modules on site, there is very little wasted material, and what little waste there is gets recycled. The ISO system is the most widely used environmental management system in the world, certifying over 250,000 businesses globally, so Wernick is in good company with its new accreditation. The FSC accreditation shows that we can certify the wood that goes through our manufacturing process as meeting the Forest Stewardship Council’s guidelines on being sustainably sourced, processed and distributed. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Wernick Buildings who have worked hard to make sure we achieved the ISO14001 and FSC accreditations.
