Scienscope Receives NPI Award with Introduction of AXC-800 II at APEX

Scienscope International, a leading American supplier of cabinet style micro-focus X-ray systems, today announced that it was awarded a 2019 NPI Award in the category of Test and Inspection – AXI for the new AXC-800 II. The award was presented to the company during a Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019 ceremony that took place at the San Diego Convention Center during the IPC APEX EXPO. Based on the AXC-800 platform, the new AXC-800 II includes internal automatic bar code reading, eliminating the need for an operator to scan reels using a hand-held bar code scanner. Now, reels are simply loaded into the system, the barcode labels are automatically scanned, and the count takes place without any further steps by the operator. New barcode labels are automatically printed that include the updated count. This system removes a manual step and offers the highest level of automation for a batch component counting system. “System automation and the reduction of manual steps for operators are key goals as we look toward the factories of the future, ” stated Don Jeka, National Sales and Marketing Manager. “Scienscope has aligned our product development to continue to focus on these goals.
