OVERHEAD GANTRIES AND CRANE RAILS Williamson Technical Services has developed systems to survey Overhead Crane rails both by remote measurement and contact methods. When working to higher tolerances 0.5mm to 2mm contact methods are used with access by "cherry picker" or rope access techniques. When lower tolerances 2-5mm are required reflectorless laser techniques are used. Surveys of Overhead rails, supplying the client with line level and pitch of rails have been completed throughout the U.K. at Airbus UK, Sellafield Mox Plant, Dinorwig Power Station, Corus Colors Shotton, Saint Gobain Glass Eggborough and Ffestiniog Power Station.
