This recent case involving the largest supermarket chain in the UK highlights the importance of clear labelling. But it also raises further questions. Allergens and dietary preferences are a huge part of our society now – but who’s responsibility is it to make sure the writer of this complaint about Tesco’s Labelling to The Guardian doesn’t happen? Should the consumer read every label or should the food and drink industry state clearly on all labels who is and who isn’t their product suitable for?
