Catchment Baskets - Trafford Park – Manchester

Wire Mesh Fabrications has recently undertaken a project on behalf of a metal recycling company committed to saving energy and helping the environment, and with plants in Liverpool, Manchester and Southampton. We were required to manufacture a series of catchment baskets, 16 in total, for the Trafford Park site which recycles plastics and foam. The baskets were simply needed to collect foam which was accumulating in the drains. Within the first week of use the baskets collected 70kgs of waste; bearing in mind the weight of foam this is quite considerable indeed.The Environment Agency was suitably impressed with the concept and has instructed both the Liverpool and Southampton sites to follow suit (feasibility studies etc. are currently being carried out).
