NEW HIGH PRESSURE SAFETY DEVICE FOR USE WITH HYDROGEN UP TO 17 BAR FROM WITT GAS
Witt Gas Techniques Ltd, the Warrington, Cheshire based gas safety, control, mixing and analysis equipment supplier, has launched the F100-17N-ES, a new flame arrestor with a maximum working pressure of 17 bar for use with hydrogen (H2) and other corrosive gases in many applications, including flame spraying techniques used in thermal spraying for anti-corrosion, heat shield, erosion prevent and insulation work.
Designed for the Chemical and Process Technology industries, this safety device is able to operate at maximum 17 bar working pressures it provides a great improvement in safety and protection for the operator and his/her equipment.
This 48mm diameter, 101mm long device is installed in the gas pipeline at the tapping point and extinguishes any flashback from reaching the gas supply. In addition to the flame arrestor, this device has an integrated temperature controlled cut off valve, which automatically prevents the flow of gas when the operating temperature reaches 105°C. The normal operating temperature range is -10°C to +60°C
Features of this device include a large surface area stainless steel flame arrestor extinguishing any flashback entering the device from any direction, whilst a temperature sensitive cut-off valve extinguishes sustained flashbacks before the internal temperature reaches a critical point. A spring loaded non-return valve prevents any slow or sudden back flow of gas forming an explosive mixture in the gas supply and a filter at the gas inlet protects the arrestor from any dirt contamination.
