The time has come: "A connected world" will soon apply to gas technology, too. WITT will reveal what is already possible today by unveiling devices featuring integrated sensor systems and electronic interfaces at the leading trade fair for cutting and welding "Schweissen & Schneiden."
[Translate to Amerikanisch:] Smart gas technology by Witt
At Stand G37 in Hall 11, decision-makers and application users can discover how safe and transparent gas supply and production processes can be. "Industry 4.0" is the name given by the German government to system configurations integrating state-of-the-art IT technology. Manufacturer WITT has taken a leaf out of the government's book and is calling the next chapter in its development the "WITT 4.0" era.
"Smart" fittings in focus
"By combining them with high-tech sensors and electronic components, we're taking our first-class fittings into the next generation," explains WITT Managing Director Martin Bender. The long-standing track record of innovation at WITT made it possible for a single provider to make this quantum leap.
Several new devices with smart options will be presented. These include a dome-loaded pressure regulator that can record gas temperature, upstream and downstream pressure, and also calculate the flow rate. If required, all of these parameters can be displayed. In addition, the new generation of non-return valves contain a tiny module for recording gas pressure and temperature. Just as compact are the new safety valves with electronic logging of the open/closed status of the valve.
As integrated solutions, these products offer real added value: As a single device including the signal generator, less space requirement, faster installation and cost advantages over bolt-on solutions.
Real time info for decision-makers
But it's not only the fittings that are connected at WITT. The company's approach enables everyone who needs to know to be informed of all components’ performance, up to the minute. You can see how it works at the trade fair: Gas mixers, switchover manifolds, line pressure regulators, non-return valves and safety valves are interconnected in a network. All data are gathered in real time at the operating station controller. Remote software on their PC, tablet or smartphone gives employees access to all parameters at any time. If something goes wrong, you can intervene immediately: maximum operational safety, exact process control, minimum down-time. You can't get any better…
This full integration is made possible by WITT's specially developed "GasControl Center" along with the remote software WebVisio. Of course, all WITT products with a smart option can be used as a stand-alone solution or integrated into an existing IT infrastructure.
