The perfect cut - Gas mixers for laser cutting systems

WITT introduces a specialised range of gas mixers for laser cutting systems, designed to enhance both precision and efficiency during the cutting process. By using gas mixtures rather than individual gases, cutting speed and quality can be substantially improved.

Gas Mixtures for Superior Cutting Performance

While nitrogen and oxygen each offer unique benefits as individual cutting gases, a blend of the two combines their advantages. This nitrogen-oxygen mixture is particularly effective for medium to thick sheets, enabling faster cuts with minimal oxide and burr formation, which significantly reduces the need for post-processing and helps to lower production costs.

High-Precision Gas Mixers for Fibre Laser Cutting Systems

WITT’s gas mixers deliver consistently high-quality gas mixtures, essential for optimal laser cutting. These mixers are engineered for the high pressures required in laser cutting applications, ensuring precise mixing ratios to avoid disruptions and prevent costly stoppages. WITT’s proven gas mixing technology reliably supplies the high-standard mixtures demanded by laser cutting systems.

The range includes models capable of a maximum output of 438 Nm³/h and an inlet pressure of up to 40 bar. Gas mixing is controlled by a proportional mixing valve, which can be operated either mechanically or electronically, depending on the model. With integrated equal-pressure control, the gas supply remains stable, even during fluctuations in inlet pressure.

Simple Operation and Remote Access

WITT gas mixers are designed for ease of use. The mixture can be continuously adjusted via a rotary knob or touchscreen display, depending on the model, requiring no specialised training. Models equipped with an electric mixing valve support remote control, making integration into laser cutting control systems straightforward and flexible.

Reliable Operation and Enhanced Safety

To ensure seamless operation, WITT’s gas mixers incorporate multiple safety features, including inlet pressure monitoring and optional O₂ content measurement. Gas supply temperature can also be monitored via transmitters, with visual and audible alarms triggered if any deviations from the set parameters occur. In critical situations, the system can automatically shut down, helping to prevent production downtime and material waste. The optional AM3 alarm module adds further reliability with a digital pressure display, mandatory alarm acknowledgment, and time-stamped alarm event logs.

Housed in a durable, splash-proof stainless steel enclosure, WITT gas mixers are built for long-lasting performance, even in the most demanding industrial environments.
