WITT’S NEW FLASHBACK ARRESTOR LAUNCHED AT SCHWEISSEN UND SCHNEIDEN 2009 WELDING EXHIBITION

Witt, the gas safety, control, mixing and analysis equipment supplier has launched at Schweissen und Schneiden, “85-20” a brand new flashback arrestor for the medium user range up to around 45 standard cubic metres per hour (approx. 1589 scfh) for acetylene and other oxy-fuel gases. This new model enhances the Company’s existing product portfolio which ranges from up to 8 Nm³/hr (approx. 282 scfh) at the lower user range and up to 220 Nm³/hr (approx. 7768 scfh) at the upper user range. “85-20” offers users an extremely compact design with a length of around 130 mm (approx. 5,1 inch) and a diameter of only 62 mm (approx. 2,4 inch). Two versions are available, one with a box nut for connection to tapping points and the other with a female thread for installation into pipes. With its focus on the medium performance range, this new model offers significant cost benefits for users with medium gas consumption requirements. Flashback arrestors to meet the standard EN 730 are used in gas welding, cutting and burning applications. High quality flashback arrestors offered by Witt include a triple protection with a gas non-return valve, flame arrestor and cut-off valve, which avoid the formation and ignition of explosive gases.
