A fantastic example of a bespoke design is one of our economy gearheads (NP) with a blind keyed hollow shaft. There are various reasons why this was designed and manufactured; • The customer needed an economical product • The customer could not incorporate a right-angled solution, due to clashing with other components on the machine • The customer wanted to reduce the length of the assembly • The solution (pictured) allowed the customer to eliminate the use of a coupling and external bearings in the design, saving sufficient space as requested. Other capabilities of the Projects department are machine upgrades, the below is a machine upgrade from 2020 at a well-known confectionary manufacturer. On this job, the projects department designed, retrofitted and installed a 26-axis servo and motor gearbox upgrade, replacing the old and obsolete existing AC Solution. No dimensions on the existing machinery needed to be changed. The upgraded solution provided improved control on the machine, and increased throughput.
