Bandsaws can come in horizontal or vertical versions depending on the required application. Bandsaws have a motor attached to a drive flywheel that continuously rotates the blade as the metal is guided through it. With a horizontal type bandsaw the cut piece is held stationary in a vice while the saw head moves the blade through the material and with a vertical saw the operator pushes the material through the blade.
