C.Scope YIRS-8 8kHz Non-Metallic Pipe Sonde

The C.Scope YIRS-8 8kHz Non-Metallic Pipe Sonde emits a strong 8kHz signal from underground pipes which can be detected by C.Scope MXL4 Locators in generator/transmitter mode. The signal - traceable from a maximum depth of 7m - is ideal for accurately tracing the line of non-metallic gas, water and sewage pipes, thus preventing contact during the excavation phase of various large projects.

In order to accurately trace a pipe, the C.Scope YIRS-8 must be inserted into the gas or water pipe. Luckily, it has been constructed to make this very easy. Firstly it has a tough, IP68-rated plastic, steel and epoxy resin composition for resisting water ingress. Secondly, a rod attachment allows it to be screwed on to any drain rod with a standard 7 T.P.I. thread which means it is easy to move around underground. The minimum possible diameter of a pipe under inspection is 50mm. Alternative movement methods include duct rodders, jetter hoses, or camera inspection systems.

The C.Scope YIRS-8 is powered by a single 1.5V AA battery for up to 15 hours. It constitutes an excellent accessory which enhances the capability of all C.Scope MXL4 Cable Locators.
