Chauvin Arnoux CA6532 Telecommunications Insulation Tester

The Chauvin Arnoux CA6532 Telecommunications Insulation Tester has been specifically designed for the telecom industry and is therefore ideal for measuring insulation on telephone lines. Test voltages can be of either 50V or 100V which allows high-resolution insulation resistance measurement of up to 20GΩ. Tests can be set to a timer and leakage current measurement is an important aspect of the tester. Furthermore, calculation of PI / DAR ratio allows assessment of resistance quality without temperature-related inaccuracy.

Numerous advanced measurement features make the Chauvin Arnoux CA6532 ideal for inspecting telephone cables. Multimeter-type functionality includes measurement of voltage, regular resistance, capacitance and frequency as well as continuity testing at 20mA and 200mA. Relative mode allows the user to compare the resistance of two wires whilst linear capacitance can indicate the length of cable under inspection plus give a reading for nF/km.

Operating the Chauvin Arnoux CA6532 is very simple despite its many capabilities because of a simple dial and push-button interface in addition to a magnetic mount. The bright, backlit screen displays results clearly and simply and also has an analogue bar graph for added depth. Up to 1300 readings can be saved to the megohmmeter’s internal memory and then downloaded to a smart device via Bluetooth connectivity. From there, analysis can be undertaken through optional Chauvin Arnoux DataView software.

Several accessories are supplied with the Chauvin Arnoux CA6532 and the robust construction is ideally suited to field use. The instrument is safety rated Cat IV 600V and is covered by a two-year warranty.
