The Clare Instruments SafeCheck 8 Hire & Rental Industry PAT Tester has been designed specifically to ensure that traceable test results can be stored for rental products when they are PAT tested in between hires.These test results are used to clearly demonstrate that a rental product supplied into the DIY or construction industry is electrically safe and functions correctly.

The HAE (Hire Association Europe) provides clear guidance of the HSE requirements under the Electricity at Work regulation; products should be re-tested to the same standard as they are at the time of manufacture.

The SafeCheck 8 complies with these guidlines, performing earth/ground bond, flash/hipot and a function test to check correct operation. This may include current consumption, continuity, polarity and leakage measurements.

Please note that the majority of in-service PAT testers cannot meet these test requirements, as they have their test output limited to less than 2.5 mA for leakage delivered under the flash/hipot test. A large proportion of in-service PAT testers do not offer this mandatory flash/hipot test.
