Earth Leakage & Load Current Meter

The Earth Leakage and Load Current (EL&LC) meter provides a continuous measurement of the earth leakage and load currents for any Class I or Class II mains powered equipment under normal operating conditions.

The measurement of Load Current is useful as a higher than normal current draw can indicate a faulty appliance. This measurement is advisable specially after an appliance has been repaired. The rating plate of the appliance should indicate the maximum power consumption, from which the maximum current can be easily calculated.

Simple to Use

This instrument is very easy to use. Simply plug into 230V mains using the IEC power lead that is supplied. Plug the electrical appliance under test into the 13 Amp socket on the front panel.

Switch the appliance on taking any necessary precautions. The EL&LC meter will immediately start to show the Load Current taken by the appliance under test. For Class 1 appliances it will also show the Earth Leakage Current. For Class 2 appliances, connect the clip of the test probe to a metal part of the appliance to show the Earth Leakage Current.
