The Extech Non-Contact High Resistance Detection Kit comprises an Extech MA430T TRMS Clamp Meter and an Extech 42509 Infrared Thermometer. The kit allows for non-contact measurements of current and temperature up to 400A AC and 510°C within an electrical installation.

Furthermore, the MA430T clamp meter is capable of AC/DC voltage measurements from 0.1mV to 600V and resistance measurements between 0.1? and 20M?. Both of these contact measurements constitute useful further investigative tests after non-contact measurements such as phase imbalances and high resistance joints have been obtained.

Extech’s 42509 infrared thermometer is a user-friendly, hand-held IR thermometer. Appropriate for use alongside the MA430T clamp meter as part of an inspection schedule, the thermometer features dual laser-assisted spot measurements of electrical components and switchgear – perfect for safely detecting high resistance electrical joints.
