The FLIR CM46 400A AC/DC Digital True RMS Clamp Meter shares the same build quality as its fellow stablemates in the FLIR CM4X range - the CM42 and the CM44 - but measures a greater array of electrical variables, in particular DC current. The CM46 is suitable for DC/AC voltage, AC/DC current, frequency, resistance, capacitance, diode, and DCµA in addition to temperature via a type K thermometer probe. The user has a wide choice of max/min/avg recording modes and useful data hold, zero function and low pass filter (VFD) for voltage measurement. Very accurate in all measurements, current is particularly precise thanks to FLIR’s Accu-tip™ technology. The electrical field detection (NCV) checks for voltage presence and strength to improve safety whilst the whole device is rated as Cat IV up to 300V and Cat III up to 600V.

Temperature can be gauged through a type K thermometer probe in order to check for hot spots and the 30mm jaw opening allows the user to check tight or fiddly wiring. In addition, the backlit LCD screen is ideal for clearly showing readings in poor light. The CM46 has an ergonomic, lightweight design for easy handling and its slim shape allows it to fit easily into a toolbox. It can survive a 2m drop and comes with FLIR’s limited lifetime warranty for peace of mind.
