The Fluke TiS20 9Hz Thermal Imager is a highly customisable thermal imaging camera. It gives an exact, non-contact temperature reading between -20?C and 350?C for the surface temperature at the measurement point and a detailed thermal image of the area or object under inspection. The 206:1 distance-to-spot ratio allows measurement of faraway objects through IR technology, thereby keeping the user at a safe distance whilst maintaining accuracy.

A 5-megapixel integrated digital camera supplies a clear visible image alongside the thermal image for straightforward troubleshooting. Excellent detail is provided by the Fluke TiS20’s 120 x 90 pixel thermal sensor and a range of different palettes are available. With a thermal sensitivity of ≤100mK, small differences in temperature are rendered visible and the choice of 50-50 blending and auto-blending between the thermal image and visible image allows the user to more easily locate unusual temperatures.

The wide 35.7? x 26.8? field of view allows a large area to be inspected all at once whilst a digital zoom can focus in for a closer look at anomalous heat outputs. The 3.5” screen (320 x 240 pixels) accurately renders information from the thermal sensor and the camera to provide a clear picture of heat patterns. For further clarity, hot and cold spots highlight the hottest and coldest points on screen.

The Fluke TiS20 can host a micro-SD card and has a large internal memory with space for thousands of pictures. The real image and thermal image are saved alongside one another for easy analysis and the user has the choice of three file formats - .is2, .bmp, and .jpeg - which each provide different levels of usability and detail. Images can then be uploaded to a computer via wifi or a supplied USB cable. From there, the Fluke Connect App can be employed to analyse and edit images.

A clip-in battery cartridge with a rechargeable Li-ion battery and battery level indicator easily slots into the bottom of the Fluke TiS20's pistol grip. One charge provides for roughly 4 hours of operation and the device functions through intuitive menus and simple push buttons so it is surprisingly easy to use. The ergonomic pistol shape and simple trigger for taking photos mean the Fluke TiS20 is easy to handle and it also comes supplied in a handy soft carry case.
