The Fluke VT04 Visual IR Thermometer provides the user with exact surface temperature readings between -10?C and +250?C as well as a combination of a thermal heat map and a digital image which shows exactly where to take readings. There is a range of options to set the blending between the two displays which means that detailed and general inspections of HVAC systems, electrical circuits, industrial machinery and automotive systems are possible with VT04.

The choice of NEAR and FAR mode mean that the Fluke VT04 can correctly align the image with the heat map depending on how far the instrument is from its target object. A box in the centre of the screen indicates the exact measurement point for the readout whilst hot and cold point indicators make the hottest and coldest points in the image immediately visible. The wide 28? x 28? field of vision gives temperature indication across a large area and visual alarms can be set for when surface temperature falls outside set limits.

An extremely useful function of the Fluke VT04 is the time lapse mode which allows continuous monitoring of a system without the presence of the user. A tripod mount on the bottom of the instrument has been included for this purpose and this also comes in handy when using auto-monitor mode which switches on when temperature reaches a certain limit.

Up to 9,999 .bmp and .is2 files can be saved on the supplied micro-SD card and then transferred onto a computer where they can be compiled into a report and edited using Fluke SmartView software. The ergonomic design and simple operation of the Fluke VT04 make it very simple to use, even for a novice, and the 8-hour battery life makes it suitable for use on site. The instrument is powered by a rechargeable battery and comes with a charger, adapters, instructions and a hard carry case.
