The Metrel MD 9035 Automotive Multimeter is designed for measuring an enormous range of electrical variables as well as other, non-electrical aspects. This makes it suitable for automotive testing, industrial testing, electrical troubleshooting, and field servicing.

In terms of its electrical measurement functions, the MD 9035 can take readings for AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, diode test, resistance, frequency, and capacitance over very impressive ranges. It can also measure non-electrical variables such as dwell angle; duty cycle; IP (inductive) or IG (contact) RPM; fuel injection timing; and temperature.

In addition to the MD 9035’s versatility, it is also incredibly adaptable because of its multitude of adjustable settings. There are four selectable trigger levels for IP-RPM, IG-RPM, Dwell, %-Duty and ms functions as well as a choice of positive or negative triggers for %-Duty and ms fuel-injection functions. Furthermore, the device can be adjusted for measuring 1- to 12-cylinder, two/four-stroke machines for dwell angle and IG-RPM. The selectable sensitivity levels on RPM, dwell and ms readings also provide more choice for the user.

The MD 9035 boasts several user-friendly features such as autoranging and hold function. The display itself is a clear, backlit LCD screen which has an extra fast analogue bar graph for real time analysis. The pick-up clip (included) allows for IP-RPM readings straight out of the box without the need for any additional accessories.

The BeepJack warning alerts the reader to when mis-connections may damage the meter and electric field detection helps detect the presence of voltage, thereby improving safety. The MD 9035 is rated as Cat II up to 1000V and also has over-voltage protection.
