Protimeter Digital Mini Moisture Meter

The Protimeter Digital Mini Moisture Meter (BLD5702) is a pin-type moisture meter ideal for assessing building moisture levels in order to diagnose different types of damp, the extent of moisture penetration and for tracking changes in moisture levels.

This reliable moisture meter features pin electrodes that measure moisture level at the surface of a material, whilst sub-surface measurements can be obtained by using optional probes suited for the task at hand.

The Protimeter Digital Mini moisture meter is calibrated for wood and so displays the actual percentage moisture content when used on wood. When the meter is used on other materials such as concrete, plaster or masonry, the instrument displays a Wood Moisture Equivalent (WME) value.

Comparative moisture levels can also be measured using the Digital Mini Moisture meter on ‘reference mode’. This mode is very useful for comparing moisture levels at numerous points in a building, compared to the original reference reading.

Concurrent to displaying any measurement, the Digital Mini Moisture Meter also highlights dry (green), yellow (at risk) and wet (red) by a sequence of 60 LEDs.

Optional Moisture Probes

The Protimeter Digital Mini Moisture Meter is supplied with a fixed 2 pin electrode as well as a heavy-duty 2 pin probe that plugs into the instrument via an auxiliary port. Additional optional probes can be selected to purchase from above, adding versatility to the types of material that the instrument can be used to measure. These include:

Hammer Electrodes - Hammer electrodes are used to obtain sub-surface moisture measurements of wood. Available in both light and heavy duty versions; the light duty electrode is suitable for occasional use in softwood, whereas the heavy duty electrode is designed for more frequent softwood use as well as occasional hard wood use.

Deep Wall Probes - used to obtain damp measurements at depth within solid and composite walls. A varied depth of insertion holes will need to be drilled before the wall probes are inserted in order to record a moisture content gradient.

EIFS Probes – suitable for measuring moisture within and through Exterior Insulation and Finishing Systems (EIFS) and other wall claddings.
