The TPI 716 Flue Gas Analyser, supplied here with a flue probe and an air probe, is a smart flue gas analyser with impressive measurement capabilities. It can measure levels of carbon monoxide and oxygen in flue gas as well as temperature and pressure. Differential pressure and temperature measurement allows assessment of flow and return values whilst a range of other values can be calculated including tightness, carbon dioxide content, CO/CO2 ratio, efficiency and excess air. Furthermore, timed tightness/let by tests and CO build-up tests can be carried out with the analyser. With optional sensors, the 716 is also capable of measuring nitrogen oxides and high CO. In dangerous CO concentrations, the instrument will not switch off and will warn the user.

An optional plug in gas leak detector provides an extra layer of safety when using the TPI 716 because it can detect a range of hydrocarbon gases and has a sensitivity of just 30ppm (for methane).

An eight-line display allows the TPI 716 to show a full set of measurement parameters at once whilst the internal memory can save up to 100 multi-page reading sets with time and date stamps. These can be transferred to a Windows computer with supplied software or Android smartphone with the TPI Stream App via a USB cable (supplied as standard) or via Bluetooth (optional extra). The simple on-board software and easy push-button interface make the analyser simple to use despite this extended functionality. The screen also flashes up with a countdown to the next calibration due date to help keep the instrument in good working order.

The TPI 716 is supplied with a flue probe and air probe as standard. The flue probe has a water trap bowl filter and pump protection filter which help safeguard the instrument whilst rubber casing adds further protection. A six-year warranty covers the analyser provided it gets annual approved calibration. It can be used on a range of different fuels and, all in all, the TPI 716 is a really useful option for professionals working on combustion systems.
