Tramex Flooring Inspection Kits

The Tramex CMEX II moisture meter is a digital version of the popular Tramex CME4 moisture meter, designed for fast, non-invasive and accurate moisture content measurements in solid floors and screeds including concrete.

The CMEX II moisture meter features the ability to transform into a multifunctional moisture meter by using the optional Hygro-i ® RH (Relative Humidity) probe and HH14TP30 pin-type wood probe for wood floor inspections.

• Hold function “freezes” meter reading when inspecting areas where the meter face is not visible.

Additionally included within the Tramex Flooring Master Kit is the Tramex WME Wood Moisture Encounter. This moisture meter tests for moisture in wood only, in a non-destructive manner.

Applications

Throughout the drying period of a new or existing solid or wood floor, it is very important to take regular moisture content measurements. This ensures that the floor material has reached a sufficient moisture content level in order to accept adhesives, treatments or the finished floor layer. In addition, it is important to recognise moisture related problems early in order to determine what treatment is required.

Problems associated with moisture within flooring materials

Surplus moisture under wooden floors leads to swelling, cupping and unwanted movement. The same problem can arise within solid floors too, causing a host of problems including degrading of adhesion, delaminating, blistering, condensation, movement, mould and deterioration of the final floor covering (for example tiles or laminate wood).

Hygro-i ® RH probes and connector cable with BS 8201 and ASTM F2170 tools

The Hygro-i ® Relative Humidity probe is an attachment which connects to the Tramex CMEX II moisture meter allowing for humidity, temperature and dew-point measurements to be taken within solid materials (for example concrete). The probe also allows for environmental conditions within a building to be monitored as well as in-situ and hood type testing to be performed, complying to ASTM F2170 & F2420 test standards.

HH14TP30 Heavy-duty pin-type probe for wood

This simple, heavy duty wood probe connects directly to the Tramex CMEX II moisture meter, allowing for pin-type moisture measurements within wood. It is important to know that this is not a non-destructive test method.

Hole liners to perform concrete floor RH testing to BS 8201 and ASTM F2170

Holes drilled for in-situ testing must be lined in order for the Hygro-i ® Relative Humidity probe to fit correctly. Hole liners can also be capped for measurements to be take in the future.

Calibration check salts

A calibration check salt provides a 75% RH (relative humidity) environment within the test chamber in order to ensure the calibration of the Hygro-i ® RH probe is optimum.

IRTX Infrared surface thermometer

The IRTX infrared thermometer is a handheld device featuring a laser target pointer in order to obtain quick temperature readings at a distance on almost any surface.
