The sheer adaptability of the Tramex Professional PTM 2.0 Moisture Meter is highly impressive with pre-set calibrations for over 500 wood species as well as a standard calibration setting. The device can be used for measuring wood moisture levels from 6 to 46% to within ±0.1% in addition to giving drywall and wood moisture equivalent ratings for wood-derived building materials.

The PTM 2.0 effectively produces the reading by measuring electrical resistance in the target material via an in-built probe although there are additional inputs for an external handheld and hammer probe (sold separately). The user can always be sure of the reading thanks to adjustable temperature correction for the moisture reading and the built-in calibration checks.

There are several user-friendly features on the device such as its data hold function which freezes readings on the screen, its durable yet lightweight aluminium design, and its internal memory capacity which has space for 100 readings.

Measurements can be taken for max, min, average, and standard deviation statistics, giving a comprehensive picture of the target material.
