SMM 2022 Round Up

The 2022 SMM event in Hamburg has come to an end. Unfortunately, SMM 2020 was cancelled due to the Pandemic, so we were thrilled to be going again in 2022 to represent British manufacturing. Marred by the passing of our beloved Queen, our friends, and visitors to SMM were sure to come by our stand to offer their condolences, it was very touching to see how far across the world Her Majesty reached. Showcasing off our flagship X2 VDR & S-VDR As always visitors were excited to try out the X2 VDR which launched in 2019. Since then, we have trained an additional 150 engineers across numerous countries. The X2 is now a firm favourite of ship owners and crew especially around the globe. The X2 VDR provides a high performance, reliable and competitively priced solution to vessels of all types and sizes. In addition, the X2 is also available as an S-VDR configuration, allowing older vessels to continually meet legislative requirements without the expense of a full VDR installation. Bring in the NEW! We were very excited to introduce the NEW SMIDS Pro at SMM 2022. Our development team have perfected Commercial Maritime’s most economic and accurate SDME (Speed Distance Measuring Equipment) system using state of the art technology to provide vessel Distance to Berth and Course Prediction options. This new system iteration also offers an optional THD function (transmitting Heading Device). Benefits of the SMIDS Pro Globally reliable, accurate and unaffected by debris in river/estuary water, disturbed silt, or cavitation. Stern, Bow and Midships distance to berth information to assist with berthing. Predictive Course indication. Displays and logs voyage time, total distance travelled and berthing history. Having gone so long without meeting in person, it was a brilliant opportunity to meet up with friends and discuss new products and new business ventures.
