Digital Tachograph as a means of recording driver activities is now widely in use and used to record time, speed and distance travelled by goods vehicles. Digital Tachographs additionally record a broad range of events and activities, the use of tachographs for record keeping purposes in vehicles operating within the scope of the (EU) drivers hours rules is governed by Regulation EC 3821/85.
