Although Hard Anodising is at the core of the business the variety of treatments and coatings has been increased to include Sulphuric and Chromic Anodising, IVD Aluminium Vacuum Coating, Aerospace-standard wet paint processes, Chromate and Non-Chromate Conversion coatings, Passivation, NDT (Fluorescent Flaw Detection), PTFE and lubricated coatings. The range of applications for components with engineered surface coatings is ever growing, some present examples of end markets include: Oil and Gas, Renewable Energy, Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, Marine, Space, Communications, Electronic, Motor Sport, Machine Tools, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems. To reach the maximum levels of performance it is sometimes necessary to specify a combination of processes on the same component, this requires the special skills of selective masking, coating and multi-processing - all of which are a key part of the Acorn service.
