Global Stockholder takes two Imet Xtech410 cnc bandsaws
Tuesday, 4th December 2012
TW Metals, a global metals stockholding and distribution group, whose two sites here in the UK at Birmingham and Southampton, serve such safety critical markets as the nuclear, oil & gas and aerospace industries with specialist steels and aluminium alloys, have recently invested their trust and money in two new ‘Imet Xtech 410 Bandsaws’ as part of their regular plant and equipment upgrade scheme.
Imet Xtech 410 bandsaws embrace the latest metals cutting technology and are a lot more cost effective to buy and install, than any other bandsaw of a similar spec. Technology that has not only increased cutting feeds and speeds, but also reduced operational vibration, thereby enabling them to deliver much higher productivity levels with an extended blade life
Martin Reaney – Warehouse & Facilities Director of TW Metals (UK) said:
“As a global metals stockholding group, the quality of our cut metals and service record is paramount to our brand reputation.
Working closely with their distributor Sawtec in Southampton, Addison Saws recently specified and supplied the first two new Xtech 410 bandsaws, where they have delivered a quality solution, that has proven to match the best on the market, but at a much lower price level.
Indeed they have not disappointed, particularly in terms of their lower running costs, higher operational efficiencies and output levels, and most especially pleasing, is their ability to cut those tougher, more exotic and higher value metal alloys and steels of inconel, titanium, nickel and stainless steel.
All in all, these ‘Imet Xtech 410’ bandsaws are proving to be highly desirable machines and an extremely good and sound investment. By comparison, they are strong, fast and flexible, as well as tremendously user friendly, making them very popular with our operators”.
With their pre-programmed ‘Automatic – Cutting Parameters’ all set in a simple to operate control panel, which stores over 60 different material specs, including both cutting and blade speeds, the new Xtech range is designed to deliver easy and fault free metal sawing. These benefits are further enhanced through their ‘Variable Feed Rate’ and ‘Variable Blade Speed’ systems, which dramatically reduce metal cutting times. Here standard saw blade cutting times can be reduced by up to 30%, where with TCT saws blades, cutting times can be reduced by over 60%, all greatly improving blade life.
Finally, the new Xtech range incorporates double bearings on both the driven and idle blade wheels, thereby aiding stability, evening out blade power and enabling higher band tensioning, which collectively increases both cut rates and blade life.
Front and back blade vice supports which separate on saw head returns, give true clearance for high production TCT, a unique design advantage in the continuing advancement of saw blade technology through Addison Saws.
