How Do Fire Sprinklers Work?

Fire sprinkler systems are engineered to automatically detect and suppress fires. When a significant rise in temperature is sensed, individual sprinkler heads are activated and water is discharged.
Each sprinkler head is fitted with a heat-sensitive element, such as a fusible link or a glass bulb filled with alcohol-based liquid. This element responds to heat by melting or breaking, which then triggers the release of water. As each sprinkler operates independently, smaller fires can be controlled quickly without unnecessarily impacting other areas or occupants within the building.
