Ashtead Technology will use the BINDT Materials Testing 2015 event as an opportunity to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of their NDT Centre of Excellence. Over the past two years Ashtead has invested over £1.5 million in the resource, which allowed them to add over 300 new items to their fleet, including the Olympus OmniScan MX2 and Eddyfi Ectane. The investment also allowed Ashtead to upgrade their existing fleet of ultrasonic and eddy current flaw detectors, thickness gauges, hardness testers and scanners.
This increased high-spec range, which includes the latest technology for Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, Eddy Current Array and Phased Array, is supported by a large team of trained staff and has enabled the Centre to supply the appropriate inspection equipment for over 100 different NDT applications.
The Ashtead Technology stand (C15) at Materials Testing 2015 will feature a comprehensive range of the latest Non-Destructive Testing equipment, providing visitors with an opportunity to learn about new technologies and to try out some of the latest equipment. In addition, the dedicated NDT team will be available to provide help and advice on the choice of instrumentation and to discuss the advantages of renting.
“The NDT Centre of Excellence has been a great success,” says Ashtead’s NDT Market Manager, Steve Drake. “It is easy to say that we intend to provide improved services across a broader range, but the level of investment that we are making in the latest technologies, training and new staff, has meant that customers have seen a massive difference in our NDT capability, and we are looking forward to even further growth in this sector in the future.”
