The range of technologies available from Ashtead Technology’s rental fleet has been further expanded with the recent acquisition of a high quality CCTV crawler and push-rod camera from German manufacturer iPEK.
The iPEK Rovion RX 130 Crawler and the iPEK AGILIOS AR90 Push Rod Camera offer excellent flexibility across a wide range of pipe diameters; 50-300mm for the Agilios Push Rod, and 150-650mm (with elevator option) for the Rovion Crawler. In addition to iPEK products, Ashtead Technology rental customers are also able to select from other brands such as Minicam, Pearpoint, Wohler and Riezler.
A key feature of the iPEK Rovion RX 130 Crawler is its camera, which offers a 10x optical zoom for the examination of smaller defects, and for clearer images and high quality PAL video. Both sides of the powerful 6-wheel-drive can be controlled independently of each other, and weighing 6Kg, the RX 130 is supplied with a 200m armoured cable reel and wheels for different conditions. It also features a backeye camera, an electrically controllable clutch and a location transmitter. However, a wide range of optional accessories are also available.
The iPEK Agilios AR90 Push Rod Camera is powerful and manoeuvrable with high pipe bend mobility. It has an operating range of up to 90m and is suitable for inspections starting at a diameter of just 50mm (house laterals). This push-rod features homogeneous LED lighting and a high quality, robust, axial camera with excellent optical qualities and a constantly upright picture.
Both the push-rod and the crawler are controlled by a lightweight, portable Control Panel, the VISIONCONTROL VC200, which incorporates an 8.4 inch touchscreen display, an internal CF-card (64GB memory), with data transfer via USB or Ethernet.
“It’s only natural for people to prefer using equipment that they are most familiar with, so we often find ourselves renting specific instruments to clients because they are already experienced and comfortable with its operation. As long as they meet our performance requirements, we are happy to add them to the rental fleet,” says Jay Neermul from Ashtead Technology. “The iPEK instruments have been designed to the highest specifications so the facility to rent them means that our customers can access this technology without the burden of high capital cost.”
