LETCHWORTH - ENGLAND - JULY 2008 - Ashtead Technology Rentals has been appointed by Crowcon Detection Instruments for rental of its latest laser methane detection instrument.
The hand-held and lightweight ATEX-approved LaserMethane mini (LMm) can detect methane from 100metres and an inbuilt methane cell subsequently eliminates the need for any external calibration. The instrument is predominantly used for gas surveying, landfill site monitoring and in other areas where methane leakage or build-up is an issue, helping to save both time and money due its detection range.
Ashteads General Manager James Carlyle said: “We are extremely pleased to have reached this agreement with Crowcon because it fits with our policy of offering the latest leading-edge technology.”
The LMm also enables users to operate and monitor from a safe distance, eliminating the need to come into contact with any gases. It only responds to methane, even when other gases are present.
Louise Early, Product Manager at Crowcon, explained: “Due to the very nature of the product, it is expected that survey times will be greatly reduced. Having Ashtead as a partner offers the opportunity for users to rent this revolutionary equipment. Utilising Ashteads experience with high technology equipment, we can ensure that customers will receive the best possible service, training and prompt delivery as part of their rental. Crowcon look forward to working with Ashtead in the UK, with a view to expanding into other territories in the near future.”
