Ultra-thin videoprobe added to rental fleet
25-09-2013
The IPLEX TX videoscope has been described as the world's smallest diameter videoscope with articulation, and is now included in the range of visual inspection technologies that can be hired from rental specialist Ashtead Technology.
With an insertion probe diameter of just 2.4mm, the IPLEX TX enables inspection staff to view objects that were previously difficult to evaluate because of very narrow access points. The insertion tube is protected with a special resin tube that features 200 times greater abrasion resistance than conventional extra-thin fiberscopes, which makes it ideal for the inspection of casting and other metals that have rough surfaces.
Ashtead Technology’s James Carlyle says: “This is an important addition to our rental fleet because it considerably expands the range of inspections that our clients can undertake. It will be of particular interest to manufacturers, engineering and maintenance organisations in sectors such as power, aerospace, automotive and industrial machinery.”
