Task

The customer wanted a gentle, reliable and space-saving conveying solution with simultaneous cooling of the product for its plastics production process between the extruder and big bag filling. A particular requirement was the high conveying capacity and the high cooling capacity required before the big bag filling.

Solution

The customer received two mirror-inverted cooling spiral conveyors made of stainless steel with an unbalanced top drive (type WFWO3600/1400-UVN76V). The material is fed and discharged centrally between the two spiral conveyors. For cooling, each spiral conveyor was designed with double thermal floors and has its own water inlet and outlet. The spiral conveyors are controlled by braking devices to ensure a short stopping time.

Benefits

The desired high conveying capacity was achieved by the mirror-image arrangement of the two spiral conveyors. The special water supply for each spiral conveyor enables the required cooling of the plastic from 170°C to 25°C.
