That’s where our latest feature comes into play—an adaptive water leak detection system that automatically responds to your water usage. In response to customer feedback, we have redesigned our Domestic Water Leak Alarm (Water Leak Watch). Now, you can set the leak detection system into ‘Auto Set Up’ mode. Responding to Water Leaks
Imagine a scenario: a burst pipe, undetected, causing gallons of water to go to waste, and potentially leading to costly damages. Our system tackles this issue head-on by continuously monitoring the flow of water in your mains pipe. Upon surpassing a specific flow threshold, indicative of a possible leak, the system promptly activates. It swiftly cuts off the water supply within a mere three seconds. ‘Sleep Mode’ allows you to temporarily suspend monitoring of the water supply for up to 8 hours. Allowing you to fill your paddling pool or use your garden sprinkler.
‘Holiday’ Mode allows you to reduce the water flow to your property to 1L/hour. This will mimimise the risk of leaks whilst away from your home.
Smart Adaptation: Analysing Water Usage Patterns
What makes our system truly smart is its ability to adapt to your water usage patterns. When set to ‘Auto Set Up’ mode, the unit will monitor the flow rate over a seven-day period. It will then record the maximum flow rate observed. At the end of the seven days, the Water Leak Watch Alarm will automatically adjust its settings. It will increase or decrease the Alarm trigger point to match your water usage.
If your property is vacant for an extended period, like during a holiday, the water leak system will adapt and gradually decrease the alarm setting to conserve water. It does this by decreasing the allowable flow rate by an eighth of the difference between the current and past flow periods. This will continue to happen, whilst you are away, to a minimum value of 22 L/Min. Nevertheless, you retain the option to override this functionality by activating ‘Holiday Mode.’ In this mode, the system restricts water flow to 1L per hour while you’re away and preserves your preferred settings until your return.
