New Baby Christmas Decoration
05-03-2022
A colourful creation perfect for the festive season! Have some fun with a burst of colours and create a beautiful new baby Christmas decoration.
Step One
PREPARE YOUR COPPER DISC
Clean your copper disc blank and copper star using emery paper. Place them in the middle of two pieces of corrugated card or lolly sticks on top of several pieces of folded and opened out paper. This is so you can easily lift your pieces of copper up when you need to move them.
Step Two
POWDER YOUR COPPER
Remove the lid of your white Efcolor and place on a sieve top. Liberally sprinkle the powder over the copper ensuring you cover all areas.
Step Three
BAKE YOUR PIECE
Place the pieces in an oven on a baking tray at 150°C for five minutes or until the colour has melted to a smooth and glossy texture. It’s important to keep food and Efcolor baking activities separate.
Step Four
SAVE OR DISCARD YOUR EXCESS POWDER
Use the crease in your folded paper to return any excess powder to the pot. Discard any powder that is contaminated or keep it in a separate pot.
Step Five
SPRINKLE YOUR DISC AND PLACE YOUR STAR
Once the copper disc is cool, place sieve lids on the copper glitter and pink powders, and sprinkle these over the middle of the disc. Place the star on top of the disc, ensuring there is Efcolor powder underneath the star and the hole at the top of the star overhangs the disc. Having Efcolor powder underneath the star before baking means as it melts, it will stick the star to the disc.
Step Six
BAKE YOUR SPRINKLED STAR
Place in an oven at 150°C on a baking tray, for five minutes or until the colour has melted to a smooth and glossy texture.
Step Seven
THREAD AND DECORATE YOUR FINAL CREATION
Once cool, thread your ribbon through the hole and add vinyl letters to make a name, initial or
personal message.
A beautiful first Christmas decoration. If you have the time you could make one for all the family. Share your decoration with us on Facebook, twitter or Instagram
