Project
Newson’s Yard was once home to London’s oldest timber yard.
The building has been renovated and re-purposed into a new venue for the design community based local to Pimlico Road Design District.
The impressive double height courtyard provides high quality retail on the ground floor and nine residential units on the upper floor.
System
D+H UK provided 24 NSHEV FIEGER louvres, and supplied and installed their controls for a natural smoke ventilation system.
The louvres are located at the top of the atrium. Their Anthracite Grey polyester powder paint finish helps them neatly integrate into the design.
Our modular control panel receives signals directly from the BMS for day-to-day natural ventilation. Stale air is regularly replaced by fresh clear air. The louvres will automatically close on detection of rain.
All BMS and rain signals will be overridden by the fire alarm trigger.
In the event of a fire the NSHEV louvres will open fully, quickly drawing smoke up and out of the courtyard. This will keep escape routes free for evacuation and provide clear access for the emergency services.
