TWENTY NOT OUT!

TWENTY NOT OUT! September, 1998 was quite a month in the overall scheme of things. Not only was US President, Bill Clinton accused of eleven impeachable offences and Google.com registered as a domain name by Larry Page and Sergei Brin but the UK office of DMN-WESTINGHOUSE was opened for business. As far as the UK process industries are concerned, the latter is probably by far, the most important. While in physical terms, what was started in the small town of Calne in Wiltshire twenty years ago may not have expanded that much – from two commercial units to three – the number of rotary and diverter valves sold each year has increased incredibly and so has the turnover – £1.4million in 1998 to £4.2million in 2017. Also, the type of businesses and the products sold to them have changed as new products have been introduced. Starting with five employees, Bob Rogers the General Manager, is the only original member of staff still working for DMN UK. Today there is fourteen permanent staff covering Sales, Sales Support and Maintenance & Servicing. In fact, it is the Maintenance & Servicing department that has grown most strongly over the past few years as customers have realised that rotary and diverter valves repaired by DMN trained staff makes good economic sense. What also has played a major part in the success of the UK office is the increase in sales from India which has resulted in the largest order in DMN-WESTINGHOUSE history. Without doubt, twenty years is an important milestone. It reflects all the hard work that everyone has invested and continues to invest so here’s to the next twenty years!
